Dinner Buffet

Dinner buffet at the Radisson Blu Plaza hotel is a bit expensive but when compared to the ambience, service and hospitality, price is absolutely justified. Enjoy unlimited servings of gourmet delicacies, delicately crafted by Masterchefs in the luxurious ambience of a five star restaurant with your loved ones and make your night a memorable one. Dinner menu at this buffet restaurant is very elaborate. Begin your meal with a hearty soup and bread. Indulge in tandoori starters or lip-smacking chaat. Savour the continental and pan-asian mains or comfort your self with the usual desi delicacies. Finish off this experience in a food paradise with your favourite sweet dish. Grab a gulab jamun or an ice-cream and satiate that sweet tooth of yours.

Chaat section

The fact that this place has an entire section dedicated to chaat is absolutely mind boggling. Unlike other places, chaat and appetizer section is completely separate and it has a lot more options when it comes to the most loved treats from the Indian cuisine. If you were born and raised in Delhi or have ever been to Old Delhi then be prepared to wander the lanes of nostalgia as you bite into the perfectly seasoned chaat made with the most authentic combinations of spices.

They serve dishes as common as gol gappa and as rare as jalebi chaat. Laccha tokri, dahi bhalle, raj kachori, dahi kachori, bhel puri, sev puri and palak patta chaat are some other items on there menu. It is almost like a street-style set up but just in a more fancy and hygienic way. Guests can get there order customized and it will be served at their table.

Veg. Momo

From the pan-asian section, our favourite is the veg. momo. They also had the option for the chicken version but I preferred this one as I am a vegetarian. Momo had a very thin dough sheet. Garden fresh vegetables and fresh cottage cheese minced together were seasoned with ginger, garlic and salt and encased in the super-thin all purpose flour sheet. Momo was really soft, wrapper was silky smooth and had a melt-in-mouth texture. Filling was very flavourful and juicy. Savouring delicious momo dunked in the red chilli chutney activates all your tastebuds which leaves you craving for more.

Indian delicacies

Appetizers in the Indian section is something which you definitely must not avoid. They had a lot of options but I opted for the aloo bonda and beetroot kabab paired with the mint chutney. Spicy chutney is made with zesty mint and fresh green chillies. It adds the much needed freshness to the deep fried aloo bonda and pan-fried beetroot kababs. I would recommend you to dunk the beetroot kabab in chutney, top it with some onion rings and wrap it in a lettuce leaf for the best experience.

In the main course I opted for steamed rice, kadi pakoda, bhindi do pyaza and sarso ka saag. By this time I was so full that I decided to avoid the breads. They do serve a huge collection of Indian breads which you must try if you can.

Best breakfast in Gurugram is the breakfast buffet at the Hyatt Place where you can enjoy global cuisine with regional influence. Visit here with your family for a soothing Sunday breakfast. You may also order the food via home delivery service, however, I highly recommend visiting here for a better experience.

Make your own salad or treat yourself with unlimited servings of your favourite dish. Savour freshly baked goods from bakery with with freshly brewed coffee, milk, juice or tea.  Breakfast is complimentary with the stay at Hyatt Place, Gurgaon. You may also enjoy this scrumptious feast even if you aren’t staying here by simply paying breakfast charges which is around INR. 1500+ (approx)

Monday–Friday: 6:30–10:30 am

Saturday & Sunday: 6:30–11:00 am

Offering a global cuisine at one buffet counter, options here are endless. Each and every delicacy is crafted with utmost care by highly trained chefs. The perfect gourmet meals right from the kitchen to your table will make your weekend mornings better. All the things served here are best as they are made using the premium quality products but we somehow managed to pick the best ones for recommendations.

Chocolate milkshake and rosted potatoes

These days, I like to start my morning meal with a glass of milk. As my eyes stumbled upon the jar of chocolate milk, I could not resist to get a glass of it for myself and that is when I decided to ditch the regular milk and indulged in this chocolicious affair. On the side, I have roasted potatoes and some olive-lettuce salad. Potato chunks were pan-seared and seasoned with rosemary and oregano. Olive-lettuce salad is my own creation. Speciality of the buffet breakfast is that you can customise things according to yourself and salad is one of them. I paired the kalamata olives and fresh lettuce leaves. For the dressing I opted for balsamic vinegar and extra-virgin olive oil.

Idli chutney and Vermicelli upma

South indian food lovers will not be disappointed as this place serves the best southern style dishes. Any breakfast is incomplete without the south indian delicacies so I had to get a portion of it. They had a lot of options such as dosa, mysore bonda and many more things but I decided to get the Idlis and vermicelli upma first. Sambar and coconut chutney was also available to complement the idlis but I chose the tomato garlic chutney. Idli was super soft, infact it even broke into half while serving, as you can see in the picture above. Spongy and airy idli served here soaks up the flavours of chutney and melts right away in your mouth. Texture is grainy, probably it is made using the rice rava.

Vermicelli upma was equally good, each and every strand of vermicelli noodles were separate and it was not at all mushy. Perfect amount of spices and tempering of curry leaves gives it the balanced flavours which leaves a mesmerizing after-taste on your tongue.

Best luxury restaurant in Grurgram

Best luxury restaurant in Gurugram is definitely “Spectra”. This award winning restaurant is housed in “The Leela Ambience Gurugram Hotel & Residences“. It is operational 24 hours a day, ready to welcome the guests. Here you can savour after hour specials, signature drinks or a cup of your favourite hot beverage.

Spectra is a multi-cuisine restaurant, with a huge variety in the food being served. This massive restaurant with a seating capacity of 200+ people is capable of serving to both walk-in guests and parties arranged at the property together. It features amusing design of culinary islands with live kitchens which will surely boost up your appetite.

Spectra is a huge restaurant but each of it’s nook and corner has been paid extra attention while designing. This place is built with such a perfection that you will fail to point out a single flaw.

As soon as you enter the restaurant, you will be amazed to see their wide collection of liquors, displayed right at the entrance. Flooring is made of thick glass sheets which glows up because of the lights underneath the flooring. As you walk down the main aisle, you can see the live counter. Exotic meals from all across the globe are cooked right in front of the guests making them drool. Hall is lit up with gorgeous chandeliers which totally compliments the vibe of this place.

You will feel no less than a royal, being looked after by a fleet of highly trained hospitality professionals, as you sip on to your favourite sangria and relish exotic antipasti.

Being a multi-cuisine restaurant, chefs here have mastered all the cuisines, so it was very difficult to pick the best out of all that was served. Although, I loved a lot more things than what I am mentioning in my blog, below are dishes which I would like to share my reviews on.

Western mains were the main highlight of the buffet spread, as unlike other places it had been curated following the authentic recipes. Fusilli pasta in alfredo sauce is a classic recipe which never fails to impress if made the right way. Perfectly cooked pasta drenched in silky smooth sauce made out of heavy cream, cheese and butter, topped with fresh parsley is a pure bliss. Spaghetti in arabiatta sauce is another classic which a lot of newbies mess up with, but here it was made by none other than the MasterChef of this lavish property, so it had to be good. Thick durum wheat spaghetti tossed in extra-virgin olive oil and chunky tomato sauce with a dash of salt and pepper swept me off my feet as I took the first bite.

Asian mains had atleast six to seven varities but kung pao eggplant is what tantalized my taste buds. I am still shook by the fact that something as simple as an eggplant can be made so fancy. Batter fried eggplants were tossed with the kung pao hot sauce and topped with the premium quality sesame oil for the hint of nuttiness. Stir-fried vegetables is the old school dish which needs no interference with flavours in the name of fusion and I am glad, that is what the chef followed. Garden fresh vegetables tossed in sesame oil, tossed with a selection of oriental sauces is the ultimate comfort food. It is healthy, satisfying and full filling at the same time.

Dining experience at this place would cost you around INR. 2500 + taxes (per person). Cost is high but so is the service, value and food quality, so the amount is absolutely justified.

Best property in Gurugram

Best property in Gurugram, is what my readers usually asks me to recommend. Gurugram is mostly visited by the business travellers. They are always looking for a place where they can stay comfortably in reasonable price.

Hilton Garden Inn is surrounded by Baani Square’s recreational spaces and restaurants, and is very near to Good Earth City Center. This property is just few minutes from Gurgaon’s central business district, putting Infocity, Unitech Cyber Park, DLF Cyber Hub, and other corporate hubs in easy reach. Building is so tall that guests can enjoy views of the city from the famous rooftop bar and infinity pool of this hotel.

As you wait for your room keys to check-in, you may order some drinks and sip on them while relaxing in the waiting lounge. Tea and coffee shop is located adjacent to the hotel lobby, and it has loads of baked goodies available which you can savour with your favourite drink. Our best pick from this place is the mushroom quiche with lavender tea.

Conference room and banquet halls named basil, thyme and oregano are located on the first floor where guests can arrange family functions or organize business meetings. Inviting your guests to a posh venue will not only leave a good impression on them, but will also make the occasion hassle free as the staff is well-trained to handle back-end operations seamlessly.

Depth is just 4 ft, so there is no danger of drowning in the pool. As the building is very tall, you can also enjoy the gigantic view of the city, as you take the sunbath.

The Great Kabab Factory
The Great Kabab Factory ( INR 5000 for two – approx.)

The Great Kabab Factory is an Indian speciality restaurant which brings the buffet experience to your table. Restaurant serves the set menu in both vegetarian and non – vegetarian option. They claim to own the bank of 450+ authentic kabab recipes from all over the world.

Ambience of this place truly matches it’s name ” The Great Kabab Factory”. Dim lights and brick wall finish gives it a factory sort of vibe. Furniture is quite minimalistic which compliments the interiors. Long curtains in royal blue color draped over huge windows adds the royal charm which a fine dining restaurant must have.

Veg. Galouti Kabab with Ulte Tawe ka Paratha
Veg. Galouti Kabab with Ulte Tawe ka Paratha

This was the first starter from the set menu and we absolutely loved it. Soft and succulent Veg. Galouti Kabab has a melt in mouth texture. Ulte Tawe ka Paratha takes it to another level by adding the much needed crunch and bite. Paratha is crisp and kabab is super soft making it the perfect accompaniment for each other. Kabab has a spicy after taste which adds the kick. Add some onion slices, green chutney and hung yoghurt dip to enjoy all the flavours at the same time.

A no. of delicious kababs were served after this, but this is something which we won’t forget.

Main Course

We were already full by savouring the tempting kababs but couldn’t resist the main course at this place.

From the Indian breads section we opted for “Laccha Paratha”. In curries, we had two options – “Mutter Mushroom and Shahi Paneer”. Being a mushroom lover, I decided to go with it. We preferred “Dal Factory” over “Dal Tadka” as it is the speciality of the place. Dal Factory is dal makhni to which the restaurant adds the special touch.

” Subz Biryani” served here is made with the best quality long grain basmati rice. Assortment of garden fresh vegetables and selection of whole spices is what works with the rice to make this recipe heavenly. Biryani is accompanied by “Boondi Raita” which is a treat on it’s own.

Kesar Badam Kulfi at RADISSON BLU PLAZA
Kesar Badam Kulfi

Kesar Badam Kulfi was definitely the star in the dessert section. Although, I am not a big fan of kulfi but trying this, made me one. Kesar Badam Kulfi is made by simmering the milk flavoured with badam and Kesar on low flame. Milk is stirred continuously at low flame until it’s quantity gets reduced to half. The reduced milk is then poured into moulds and frozen until set.

Kulfi was loaded with almonds which can be tasted in every bite. Kesar adds nice color and fragrance. We would prefer this indian delight over other ice creams any day. A no. of desserts such as pan ice cream , rabdi – jalebi and kesar halwa were served as well.

The meal ended with “Pan” which is an Indian mouth freshener. Not only it makes the breath fresh after a meal but also helps in digestion and prevents diseases like diabetes.

Vlog PART 2

Radisson Blu, Kaushambi is a luxury hotel located in near East Delhi. The hotel is economical in comparison to other hotels of same standard located in the city centre. Main highlight of this place is the massive counter for buffet which is right at the entrance of the restaurant. Walking through the aisle of delicious food will surely make you drool. Large dining space and fine dining interiors uplifts the ambience. This place looks more appealing at night.

Our best pick

Pizza Primevera
Farmhouse Pizza
Pizza Primevera ( INR. 650+ taxes)

Being a true lover of Italian cuisine I could not resist myself from ordering pizza after looking at the pizza section on the menu. They serve variety of thin crust pizza with different toppings. You can always request to get customized topping for as customer satisfaction is their priority.

We ordered pizza primevera, which has a thin crust base loaded with a selection of vegetables. Fermented all-purpose flour is stretched and slathered with marinara sauce made with premium quality tomatoes and herbs. A generous helping of fresh mozerella cheese is then added over the sauce. Stretched dough is finally topped with bell peppers, mushrooms, olive, onions and jalapenos which adds color to the classic tomato sauce and cheese combination. It is the baked in a pre-heated oven until cheese melts and base becomes crisp.

Stringy and gooey cheese holds the vegetables together and streches upon biting into the pizza. Pizza seasoning and red chilli flakes are served on the side so that you can add same as per your liking.

Fresh vegetables as topping on the pizza makes up for all the junk food indulgence. On the side, we opted for the regular diet soda. Although, a variety of refreshing drinks are available to choose from. They also serve alcoholic drinks and you may order the same if age permits.

Our experience at this place was amazing. Delicious food and heart-warming hospitality is all what we crave for and this is one of those place where you can experience it. If you are travelling anywhere near East Delhi, then this place definitely deserves a visit!

Rbg, Bar & Grill is the multi cuisine restaurant so various dishes are served at the buffet. From parathas to salads and gulab jamun to doughnuts, they have it all. What I like the most is the live counter facility. Items like dosa, uttapam and omelette are available on order. They are served hot and fresh, right from the skillet to diner’s table.

Beverage section also has a great variety. In the hot beverage section they have Cappuccino, Espresso, Latte, Masala tea, Regular tea, Green tea etc. Whereas, in the cold beverage section they have lassi, smoothie, cold coffee, coolers and fruit juices.

What we had for Breakfast?

Breakfast buffet at RBG, Bar & Grill has good options for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. We are vegetarian, so we would review vegetarian items only.

Bread Section

Breads served at this place are so perfect! Crispy on the outside and fluffy from inside. Multigrain bread, garlic knots, dinner rolls, garlic loaf and olive rolls were displayed in the bread section. These can be toasted just before serving and topped with choice of butter. Garlic and parsley butter is what we opted for as a topping on our olive rolls which were accompanied by cappuccino coffee.

Breakfast Cereals

More than 6 varities of breakfast cereals are served and we have the option for hot/cold milk. Toppings like honey, dry fruits, seeds and berries are also available which can be added as per preference. Although, I am not a big fan of breakfast cereals but when presented so beautifully, anyone would be tempted to give it a try!

Breakfast buffet Doughnuts
Doughnuts and muffins

If you love baked goodies like I do, this is the perfect place for you. Their bakery staff deserves appreciation to craft such a beautiful baked goodies. They are not only a treat for your taste buds but also an eye candy. Just look at these, they look so beautiful! Fluffy doughnuts sprinkled with powdered sugar looks like they are straight out of Angel’s kitchen!

Like the other sections, this section also has good options to choose from such as fruit bread, regular doughnuts, chocolate doughnuts, danish pastry, cinnamon rolls, muffins and crossiants.

We also tried puris, parathas, dosa and a lot of dishes from the North Indian section as well.

We are regular visitor at this place. Other delicacies shall be discussed in the next blog!

Mein Kun
Mein Kun, The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel

Mein kun, The pan asian dining restaurant

The ultimate place to visit for pan asian food lovers. Authentic oriental cuisine served here is made with the premium quality ingredients which are sourced from the east asian countries.

Opening time is only from 7:00 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. Reservations can be made via local dining apps or through direct email to hotel.

Our experience

We tried this place ago few months ago, on our staycation at The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel.

We were craving for some light snacks for dinner as the lunch buffet at Cafe Knosh kept us full till late evening. As this place only open up for dinner, it was the perfect time explore some authentic oriental snacks. Mein Kun is right adjacent to the Cafe Knosh.

As soon as you enter, you can see the statue of Lord Buddha which is absolutely adorable and would attract your attention for a while. People loved getting photographed beside this statue. This place has 3 sections, first is the waiting area where the statue of Lord Buddha is placed, second is the common dining area and third is for private gathering which can be booked for parties. Each section is divided by the heavy wooden partitions with detailed carvings. Interiors of this place are worth appreciation. Yellow lights , heavy chandeliers and walls studded with beautiful artefacts makes this place look like a dining hall of a royal palace.

Mock meat spring rolls, ( INR. 750)

For appetizer we ordered the mock meat spring rolls. Spring rolls are always the first choice for me when ordering appetizers from the pan asian section. They are crunchy, juicy and delicious! They had the mock meat spring rolls in the menu which is a good choice if you are vegetarian like me. Mock meat is made with soyabean. It’s texture is almost like meat but it is 100% plant based. Small chunks of mock meat seasoned with oriental spices are tossed with juliennes of garden fresh vegetables and rolled in wonton wrappers. Wonton rolls are then deep fried until golden and served with sweet chilli sauce.

Wok Tossed Noodles ( INR. 650)

For main course we ordered “Wok Tossed Noodles” from their noodles section. Thin stringy and bouncy noodles tossed in a wok , Hakka style with a lot of fresh vegetables is a true delight. They accompanied with variety of sauces which you can add to your noodles as per your liking. I like spicy food so I added generous amount of red chilli sauce, if you like it on the tangier side then pickled ginger would be your best choice.

We were completely full by the time we finished both the dishes, so we decided to skip the dessert.

Holiday Inn, Buffet dinner

Holiday Inn , is a 5 star property located in Delhi,Mayur Vihar. It has the facility of luxurious suites, swimming pool, spa-salon, restaurants and all the other basic amenities which a 5 star property should have.

I love having gourmet dining experiences and recently I visited Cafe on 3, the casual dining restaurant by Holiday Inn.

Melon skewers for appetizer

Tiny spheres of ripe water melon, skewered with fresh mozzarella cheese are dipped in honey , lemon and olive oil dressing which adds flavours to this delicate dish in right amount.

Soul of this recipe is it’s simplicity. All you want to taste is the sweetness of melon and freshness of cheese when you take a bite. Dressing just helps to combine the flavours and enhance the aroma.

As soon as you take a bite into it , you can feel the water melon juices mixing with stringy mozerella which almost feels like nature’s candy.

Vegan Sushi

Sushi is a very popular east asian delicacy which is traditionally made with seafood. Most of the people believe that sushi can only taste good if it is made the traditional way. Vegan Sushi served here totally changed my perception. It was vegan and it was delicious!

Vegan version of Sushi is made with choice of vegetables wrapped in Japanese/sushi rice rolls and topped with nori sheets. Vegetables adds the flavour and color, sushi rice adds the body and texture and nori sheets adds the crunch. It is best served with soy sauce, wasabi and pickled ginger. These have sweet and sour flavours with a pungent after taste. Some vegan sushi varieties which are very popular are:

  • Nasu Nigiri
  • Avocado Nigiri
  • Kappa Maki
  • Shinko Maki/ Takuan Maki
  • Kampyo Maki
  • Ume, Cucumber Shiso Makizushi

I prefer Kappa Maki and Avocado Nigri. I also had some thepla and mirch achar which is a gujarati dish (you can see that in my plate) because I could not stop myself from trying all the delicious food which was right in front of me. I know thepla with Sushi is a weird combo, but trust me you need to try it all when you are a food lover. (wink)

I was so full after having this, that I decided to head over desserts section.

Pastries and tarts

I have a special desire to try all the western style desserts. Dessert section was filled with variety of pastries, pies and tarts. All in different vibrant colors were super welcoming to eyes. Some were topped with red cherries, some with green kiwi, and others with chocolate, caramel and banana. This beautiful site would make any one drool over these desserts.

The first dessert I had was banana caramel cake slice. Soft vanilla cake slices were topped with caramel sauce and thin banana slices. Cake was as soft as an airy sponge is. Same was with the mango pastry. Super soft vanilla cake loaded with whipped cream and fresh mango slices can take anyone to heaven at the very first bite.

Mini Rajbhog is something from the Indian desserts section but I have a special place in my heart for it. This is my mother’s favourite dessert and I am having this since my childhood days.

My experience at this place was very good. Food was delicious and customer service is top notch. This is a 24 hours open restaurant and you may visit any time but I would recommend going at night because vibe is quite special at that time. Sitting beside the pool option is available as well, and if the weather is good you should definitely go for it. Terrace pool is right next to this restaurant and you get a view of it while enjoy delicious meal.
